TRANSFORMING MOONEE PONDS CREEK
Welcome to the Chain of Ponds Collaboration
The Chain of Ponds Collaboration is an ambitious collaboration working to transform the Moonee Ponds Creek into an iconic waterway for Melbourne that provides high social, cultural and environmental benefits.
The collaboration includes representatives from local and state government, community groups, not-for-profits, water authorities and research organisations — all with a strong interest in improving the Moonee Ponds Creek.
“…this process has demonstrated what it takes to achieve true collaboration and how valuable the extra effort put in to collaboration can be to achieving different outcomes.”
The Westmeadows Meander project is progressing steadily, with Melbourne Water busily working through the preliminary design phase.
The Moonee Ponds Creek corridor improvement project in Brunswick West/Essendon is progressing very well. A new pedestrian and cycling bridge across the creek has been installed, linking the two suburbs.
