The Westmeadows Meander project is progressing steadily, with Melbourne Water busily working through the preliminary design phase.
- preparing a Cultural Heritage Management Plan, which is underway in consultation with the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Corporation
- undertaking flood modelling and a water level assessment
- undertaking detailed design for the proposed infrastructure, which will include a culvert crossing, maintenance access track, weir and rock step crossing at the current Riddell Street crossing.
Once these design steps are completed, a community engagement plan will be drafted and feedback sought by stakeholders.
Melbourne Water and Hume City Council will collaborate on community consultation in the local area to test the ideas with residents and users of the parkland.
